LIVE TUTORING
Welcome to statistics.com's live tutoring service for questions related to introductory statistics. Trained tutors are available to answer your questions in interactive online sessions 5 days a week, as noted in the 'Tutor Availability' section below. (Note: more advanced questions can be handled by our online consulting service.)
Here's How it Works
- First you sign up by paying a small registration fee (nonrefundable) while providing some basic registration information.
- At the end of the registration process, you will be given further information on how to contact the live tutoring receptionist and how to set up your computer for the tutoring sessions.
- From that point forward, whenever you need help with introductory statistics, all you need to do is make contact with the receptionist, and you will be connected to a real tutor in a fully featured interactive session.
Tutor Availability
Currently, tutors are available to start sessions from 9pm - 11:30pm US eastern time (UTC -5), Sunday - Thursday (sessions lasting till 12:30am will be closed out at that time). Please note that live tutoring is available on a first come first served basis. On busy nights:
- You may be limited to one question per session
- You will join a queue, and the tutor will inform you of your status
- If the queue is long, you may need to wait until the next day to receive assistance.

Virtual Tutoring Room
Our live tutoring system's virtual tutoring rooms utilize some of the latest technologies in online meeting systems. Here are some of the features:
| Whiteboard | Type, draw, and upload documents, images, spreadsheets, and more on a shared virtual whiteboard. |
| Text Chat | Text chat with the tutor in real time. |
| Document Sharing | Upload any kind of document or spreadsheet to the whiteboard so that you and your tutor can see and annotate directly on it. |
| Application Sharing | Allows the tutor to share any application with you in real time to better explain a statistical topic or procedure. |
| File Transfer | Pass files between you and the tutor so that the tutor may better understand your question and so that you may better understand the tutor's explanations. |

Fees
Registration: $3 (registration lasts 4 months)
Tutoring sessions: $13 per half hour
Billable time starts when you start to ask your question and ends when you leave the session. Tutoring sessions are billed in half-hour increments at the start of each half hour, to the credit card that was used for registration. Unused time is not carried over to future sessions.
Note: Registration does not require the tutors to be available, you may register at any time.
Note: Before signing up, you may want to verify that your system is capable of running the required virtual tutoring room software by looking over these system requirements.
Note: Tutoring sessions often involve periods where you need some time to review what the tutor has provided, or do some work. Tutors may, therefore, be handling more than one person at a time. If the tutor takes time during a session to work with someone else, you will not be billed for that time.
